In unprecedented times, it is not business as usual. Students had a one-month long HBL, MOE had to cut down syllabus, mid-year exams were cancelled. Now, we have to adapt our popular June Bootcamp to a STAY@HOME May Bootcamp.
COVID-19 or not, the national exams for 'O' and 'A' Levels are less than 6 months away. This year, our focus is to plug the gaps for our students whose learning have been massively disrupted by our circuit breaker measures. Our STAY@HOME Bootcamps have also taken into account the exam changes announced by MOE.
All our STAY@HOME Bootcamp classes will be conducted via LIVE ZOOM lessons, and will comprise of: (1) content revision(2) levelling up skills, (3) timed practices and (4) tutor feedback. Students will have access to our online Classroom for group activities. Resources will be emailed to our students before the start of each class, and hard copies can be collected from our centre after the end of the circuit breaker.
Whether you are in Secondary 3, Secondary 4, JC1 or JC2,  and your concerns are in Geography, HistorySocial StudiesEnglish, Economics or General Paper - our wonderful team of Humanities Hub tutors will be able to help you. Afterall, they have a long track record of producing way above national average results year after year!

Elective History

For the O-Level History examinations in 2020, 60% of the marks came from Section A, where Source-Based skills were tested.  Therefore, it is essential for candidates to be clear on how to tackle questions found in Source-Based Case Studies in a historical context if they were to do well in Elective History.

For these series of two-hour sessions over the four days, the focus would be on the following skills:

  • Reliability of sources

  • Utility of sources

  • Evaluation of sources

Using case studies from the rise of Stalinist Russia, the Korean War and the Cuban Missile Crisis, step-by-step guidance will be given to the participants on how to recognise such questions and how to tackle such questions.  Practices are given and will be marked promptly.
